John's pop cultural connection

Anne Frank was a girl who, after her book was published, many girls wantedto grow up to be like her. Anne is similar to musical "sensation" MileyCyrus, better known as Hannah Montana. All little girls wanted to have theirjournals published, and wanted to be like her. Now, virtually all girls wantto be like their little hero, Hannah Montana.

  1. Many people do want to be popular like Miley Cyrus but she did not get her journal published. It sounds like that's what you were implying that journals were the only way to become famous.

  2. I doubt that the little girls during the Holocaust wanted to get their journals published. Anne herself thought that her thoughts would be kept private. The whole point of a journal such as this one is that it is kept private. Journals written to be published would inherently be superficial.

  3. First off, I think it's hilarious how you call Miley Cyrus a "'sensation'"! However, I'm not sure most girls wanted to be like Anne when the diary was published, mainly because I believe they knew she was deceased (it's hard to imitate a dead person!). All joking aside, I don't believe they were trying to imitate her because she is shown to have a large inferiority complex. In conclusion, the book is inspiring, but I probably wouldn't say imitatible.

  5. okkkkk.
John, I think you are sooo off.
1st- Anne, brillant kid who informed millions of the bruallities and realness of the Holocaust. No girl wats to die tragically and have their diary be published after their death.
2nd- Miley Cyrus is a disney run- up preteen that tells girls to dress inipropretly like she, dance like a pole dancer, and date some one 6 yrs older. she is not an inspiration. she is what is wrong with hollywood, she is the future brittany spears.
you could compare how the 2 show the ills of soicety. that would be a good connection.
